Project Description

Workshop “Green Recovery – Energy Efficiency as a Way to Improve Economy and Reduce GHG Emissions”

The Workshop „Green Recovery – Energy Efficiency as a Way to Improve Economy and Reduce GHG Emissions“ (25 June 2009 in Tel Aviv) was carried out in order to promote the advantages of a participation in the international emission trading market for Israeli companies and to promote exchange between Israel and Germany about the energy efficiency potential of the Israeli economy. About fifty participants from the Israeli industry, from NGOs and ministries took part in the discussion. Furthermore, representatives of German companies discussed their experience and specific problems when developing energy efficiency potentials. The results from the discussion provide starting points for further action, which are among other things 1) the use of new strategies and the development of existing framework conditions in order to create incentives for the development of energy efficiency potentials, 2) the development of energy efficiency as independent business sector by means of energy service companies (ESCOs) and 3) the acceleration of information campaigns about energy efficiency.
