This expertise contains an evaluation of the employment effects of the energy transition in Germany. We compare the positive employment effects, induced by investments into renewable energies and energy efficiency, to the negative employment effects that happened mostly in sectors of conventional energy generation. We estimate an overall positive employment effect of the energy transition.
