The overall objective of the project is to: (i) provide technical information and macroeconomic analysis on emissions scenarios and enabling policy instruments, including ETS, (ii) enhance the understanding of opportunities and challenges behind different types of economy-wide mitigation objectives in the Kazakh context; and (ii) strengthen the modelling capacity in Kazakhstan for analyzing mitigation pathways, enabling policy options and macroeconomic impacts.

The specific objectives of the project are:
