On behalf of BMUB we support the Kazakh government, especially the Ministry of Environment Protection, in the development and implementation of a National Emission Trading System (NETS). This support includes advice on institutional, technical and economic issues of a NETS in accordance with the requirements of the Road Map on the implementation of climate change activities approved by the Kazakh government.

In addition to decision makers of the government, especially the Ministry of Environment Protection, representatives of the Kazakh business and business associations as well as related experts are the target group of our activities, which are based on experiences from the EU ETS and other trading schemes which are adjusted to Kazakh conditions and focus on a future compatibility of the Kazakh system to international emission trading systems. The support is to be carried out stepwise (in three tranches) related to the request of the Kazakh Ministry of Environment Protection and the concrete development in Kazakhstan.
